Question
About 2 weeks ago we adopted 2 sister guinea pigs named Ripley and Reese. Ripley has always been overly talkative when we pick her up and hold her, but Reese has been the opposite, they would lick and nibble (but not bite hard) when we lay down with them Ripley is an explorer, and Reese just sits in one spot and usuaily licks the salt off our skin... As of the last few days, Reese has been more skiddish when we go to pick her up (she runs as fast as she can across the cage to get away) and more talkative when we pick her up, she wont stay in the same spot when we are peting and playing with her, she has been aggressive towards her sister... but im not sure its more than before the last few days. Reese has begun biting us especaily hard almost to the point of drawing blood when we are holding her or placing her back in cage. We have no other pets except our girls. I wanted to know if the way she is acting now is because she is finaily adjusted... or if it is something we need to get checked out?

Answer
Hi Guys

Such problems are almost always caused by environment changes or, as you say, getting used to their new environment. It is very unlikely to be health related.

If the problem persists for more than a few more days, let me know and I will do some research on your behalf.
