Question
what is the life span, and at what age should they disengage from producing future offspring?

Answer
Shelley,

Guinea Pigs live for anywhere between the ages of 5 to 8 years old, that is only the average lifespan though. Many Guinea Pigs who have had great care and hardly any health problems have lived to reach the age of 10 or more. The world's longest living Guinea Pig on record lived to be 14 years 10 months and 23 days old.

Responsible Breeds stop breeding the females as the age of 2 years old as by this time they have had several groups of young and it becomes dangerous to the female, as many complications can arise during the pregnancy and the delivery. Though in the wild they will continue to produce offspring long after the age of 2.

Take care now,
