our milton

Milton is our guinea pig that died today.  He had diarrhea and we gave him some meds for wet tail, we thought he would be fine but my 6 year old daughter found him dead after school today.  Did he get some thing from our cat that goes outside?

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about milton.

Guinea pigs can get diorrhea for a number of reasons. Too much green veg, or possibly an infection passed on by other animals, so it is possible that he picked it up from the cat.

If he was old, he might also have died for this reason.
