HELP! We have had our sow "pokey" for 2 yrs.  About 10 mths. ago we got her a friend whom we thought was another sow.  Sexing this pig was very difficult, she looked like a combination of both sexes but since I could never get the penis to pop out I assumed it was a girl. Very long hair also covered his/her parts.  He/she was mounting Pokey this week and upon further inspection, they really don't look alike from the bottom.  Now I am very worried Pokey is pregnant and could die! You are right to ask about this. As I'm sure you know, it will be difficult for Pokey to give birth at such an age.

I have included a link below that shows a close up of the private parts in case that helps you. If she is pregnant then you will need vetinary support to help you to solve this problem.

However, there is a chance that the other pig was mounting Pokey just out of dominance. Many pigs do that, so dont freak out just yet.
