allergies to guinee pigs

I am very allergic to cats. We wanted to buy my child a guinne pig and someone told us I could be alergic to that also. I have been looking up on line and cannot find a thing. I am not alergic to any dogs. Can you help.

Hi guinea pigs have hair very much like ours and not fur like cats and dogs so you should be ok with a guinea pig.
I would get 2 tho as 1 will get very lonely and not live as long.
2 brothers or 2 sisters are good together or a neutered male and a female.
