guinea pig had babies

hi my guinea pig had 5 babies this morning and is doing well, she seems to be coping fine but im worried as the cage is very messy and has lots of blood in it, it is attracting flies and i need to clean it out am i able to do this as i know this can upset the mother and she can regect the babies, and also do i give her anything else for her diet as she is now feeding and needs to keep up her vitamin c levels     many thanks

hello congrats on a successful birth. Guinea pigs do not reject their babies because you handle them. You can handle them immediently after birth because they are basically mini guinea pig versions. They will nibble on solid food and so it's perfectly safe to clean out the cage.
