Cheilitis

my guinea pig has cheilitis. how do i know if it is bactireal or fungal? how do i treat it? will it harm him, because he has had it for a while now, and i only realized it was cheilitis recently.
please help!

Perhaps I know the condition as a different name as I havent' heard of chelitis.

In any case, the only way for a diagnosis to be made between fungal and bacterial is by a vet as they are qualified.

Sorry I couldnt help more but I am not a vet myself.
