dryskin/shedding

Question
We have two guinea pigs with dry skin who are shedding a lot. The vet checked
for mites and they don't have them. He recommended 2-3 3V drops in their
food once/day and giving them a bath once/week with Oxydex shampoo. I have
been doing that for about 4 weeks with no change. I would welcome any
thoughts/suggestions. Thanks

The most common reason for guinea pig hair loss is allergic reaction to the bedding.  It is possible that the type of bedding you are using is causing your guinea pigs to lose hair.  I suggest that you change the type of bedding you are using and see if that makes a difference.
