Question
I have been mating my 2 guinea pigs since April 17 and now my female is moving her bottom in a wierd way almost like she wants to push something out. Also she is biting the male pigs ears. Is this stuff normal?

Thanks

Brittany --

Well, I will tell you this for sure -- your female cannot be delivering yet if they have only been together for about a month.  It takes about 70 days for a litter to mature enough to be born.  It is possible that she is signaling the male that she is ready to mate by rubbing her bottom in this way.  Also, it is totally normal for a guinea pig to attempt to bite the male -- to be honest, mating hurts a female a little bit, so she is likely to be a little aggressive with the male.

I hope this information helps -- sorry it took me so long to respond (I am having a lot of trouble receiving my AllExperts email).  If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me -- I will attempt to answer more quickly.

Good luck!
