Hi my name's rebecca and my guinea pig recently has a flu.....i brought her to the vet and gave her antibiotics. She got better but then flu again. The vet told me it's because I've been giving her antibiotics for the time frame given by her but I should try to extend to ensure that she gets better. She's better now but I woke up the next day and find her crawling......her legs are stiff then I did some research and found out that she's lack of calcium. A sort of guinea pig paralysis. But she's not eating....I really don't know wot's wrong with her. Pls help

I have a question for you - what is the antibiotic prescribed by your vet for your guinea pig, and what was the precise diagnosis the vet gave?  Let me know and I would be glad to help.  Thanks!

Well, I'm going to level with you - unless you know the name of the antibiotic, there's not a whole lot I can do to help you.  Also, as far as I know, its pretty rare for guinea pigs to catch "flu", so if that's what the vet told you, I would possibly seek a second opinion from another qualified exotic "pocket pet" vet.

Hope this is helpful.  If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me again.  Good luck!
