Question
QUESTION: I want to mate my guinea pig but should i take the female to the male or the other way around?

i want to mate my pig but the lady who has the male says i have to bring my pig to her but i want to keep my female in her habitat that she is used to and i want to keep the babes thats why i'm breading. the lady that has the male wants something in return like most of the babes but my main Q is do you keep the female in her habitat or do you take her to the male or is it the other way around?

ANSWER: Jamie,

The female (sow) should be taken to the male (boar) to be mated. As the male is in charge of the whole thing and so it is safer for them to mate in his territory. The sow will be fine with this and things will work out better for the two if she is brought to him.

I hope this helps and good luck to you.

QUESTION: but the lady who has the boar wants to keep all the babies and wants more in return and the whole reason im mating her is because i want the babies what should i so about that

Answer
Jamie,

Your best bet is to fine another boar to mate with your sow. One's who owner doesn't want so much in return for breeding the boar with your sow. Other then that there isn't really much to tell you.

I hope this helps,
