Question
hello,
I just got a new GP (i now have 3) He is only five weeks old,  I have noticed that he snezes a little bit and has crustys around his nose, also he sniffles.  He does eat and drink like any normal piggy would.  I really dont feel i should rush him to the vet unless he gets a gooey nose or eyes.  So i was wondering if the cold will go away on its own?

also i was wondering, my older male piggys and the new one have a cloudy urin,  it has always been that way.. am i feeding them something i shouldnt?  Or is that normal?  All of my babys seem healthy and happy.

thank you for a quick reply!

Any time a guinea pig has discharge from its nose or sniffles, its time to visit the vet.  A respiratory infection can quickly become something very serious in a guinea pig, so I would recommend visiting a vet soon.

As for your other question, yes, that is normal, and nothing to worry about.  Guinea pigs urine is naturally a little on the cloudy side.  If it gets excessively so, or if you notice blood or other substances in it, it might be time to have them checked for kidney problems.

Hope this is helpful.  If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me again.  Good luck!
