lump on gunea pigs neck

Our Guinea Pig recently developed a lump on his neck, under the jaw, it is about a quarter size lump and feels hard, any ideas what it could be, and/or what to do about it?

Hello Steve,

It sounds very much like an abscess. He will need to see a vet for treatment. Treatment is generally removal or draining and a round of antibiotics to fight the remaining infection. Good luck! I hope he'll feel better soon.
