i have one female guinea pig which is about 1 year old. my guinea pig is one of the naughty type. well its not naughty but it gets scared easily. i've been trying to pick it up but it keeps on getting scared and running away. i really want to pick it up but i cant. My guinea pig also sgeaks alot when ever i walk pat or when she hears my voice. It sqeaks like nothing and trys climbing the cage. Could you please tell me whats the best way to lift my guinea pig without it getting away and also why it sqeaks.

Answer
Hello Tasha,

Calmly back your piggy into a corner, talking softly and moving slowly. Gently scoop her butt into one hand and place the other firmly under her chest and just scoop her up. You could also herd her into a box and lift the box out once she is in it. As for the squeaking, she's probably demanding food. I'm going to send you a link that describes alot of the different piggy sounds. It should help you figure out what your piggy is telling you.
