Question
QUESTION: I'm very concerned for my sow GP. I believe she has been pregnant toooo long. Is that possible? I've read so much on GP pregnancy n births, she has her back end very swollen. She's HUGE! it's very noticeable she has a baby on each side n as u know could b more. It looks n feels like her back bone/ tail bone(?) is straightened out. I know my boar is a good size n a good size baby when he was born. Is it possible the babies r stuck?

ANSWER: it depends on alot of things, a pregnancy lasts for 60-70 days, if she is less than that then you shouldnt be expecting babies...yet. if however your sow is more than ten months then there is a good chance that the hip bones have fused together making birthing at best extremely difficult and she would need to see a vet.

QUESTION: Do u really mean 10 months in ur answer or did u mean 10 weeks? If ten months then I'll wait n c there's no way shes that far. I do c the hip bones sticking out but I figured it was cuz the way she lays n so pregnant

Answer
no sorry i was not clear i mean ten months old herself, then there can e serious problems, i dont think you can generally see the hip ones sticking out in a normal guinea pig, unless you mean when you are looking from the underside then you might, if otherwise and if the guinea pig is ten months old or older then et her to a vet straight away.

sorry fo not being clearer about the age.
