Question
"Hello, my name is amy. As you can see, i am doing a science project for my school. The topic of my research is:
Which animals are better/easier to care for, guinea pigs or rabbits? My hypothesis was that both of them would be similar, because they don't have much difference in size and shape. I really need an answer or a bit of help until Tuesday,October 24th. If u would help me, I would appreciate it A LOT! A little bit of help would make a big difference. Thank you very much, and have a nice day^^"

Answer
I can help you a little bit, rabbits do contain more ammonia in their urine, making their urine very acidic, it smells and stains the side of the cage. Guinea pigs do have a small amount of ammonia, but their urine does not smell and stains much less. Rabbits also require much more space, they can range from the size of a guinea pig, about 2.5 pounds, to the size of a small dog, 25 pounds. Guinea pigs only weigh between 1.5- 3 pounds, making them require less space. Rabbits are also solitary animals, they can only be kept in singles. Where as guinea pigs like to be kept in groups. Rabbit also have more young, from around 5- 13 depending on the breed and size, guinea pigs typically have 1-3. Guinea pigs do require more vitamins in their diet, vitamin C especially, their food, guinea pig pellets are also usually more expensive. Both eat timothy hay, and lots of it. Rabbits tend to not like to be held, they rather be petted and talked to, where as guinea pigs do not mind being held. Let me know if you have any more questions.
