large swelling on underside

Question
Our male guinea pig Lenny has two swollen areas around his teets above his lower bottom legs.  We are concerned as they appeared within a day and do not know if he is allergic to something.  We have had him for over two months, and he has a friend Thomas who we have also had for about two months.  He is acting normal, still eating, pooping, playing, etc. but we are concerned if these are serious or not.  He lives in a 2x4 metal enclosure using pine bedding.  We do not know if he possibly ate something he was allergic to, or if the swellings are due to something else.  We hope you can help answer this problem.

I'm very sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I have been very ill the last few days. Again, I am terribly sorry for the delay. I recommend a vet visit. Because of the location, it sounds like it may be swollen glands and that could indicate an infection. A vet should be able to give you treatment options depending on the infection. Most infections are treated with antibiotics. Once again, I'm sorry for the delay in answering.
