Baby Piggies and mites

hi there, my piggy gave birth to 3 babies on mothers day.One big one and 2 small babies. i have just found one of the small babies dead,and the other 2 babies don't look too good either. they are shaking and seem to have no energy. is there anything i can do to help them? On further examination of the dead baby,there was small long mite like creatures crawling about the head, i checked mummy piggy and the babies and they have them too. What are they? what can i do to get rid of them? I have gave the piggies a wipe over with some damp cotton wool to try and get rid of them.

I am going to take them to the vet tomorrow, i just need a little reassurance just now.

It may well be mites but usually these cant be seen with the naked eye so it may be another type of parasite.

You have done the right thing booking a vets appointment and all you can do for the time being is to keep them warm, fed and watered.
