two males?

We just got a teenage male from PetSmart and would like to get another (we are novice owners). I read they like company, but males will fight if not related.  Is this so, and a bad idea to add one?   What if I add a female (spayed?)?

Not all males fight, it depends highly on their personality, age, and cage size. Most males will get along fine provided they have enough space. It is recommended that two males have at least a 2x5 C&C cage. www.cavycages.com
