Blind Guinea Pigs

Question
My 3 month old guinea pig recently gave birth to 3 beautiful piglets and they were all healthy except for one of them. This particular one's eyes were closed and did not open. i was worried so i took him to the vet for a check up. The vet gave me some eye medicine which i applied each day. i fear he may be blind and if he is what should i do, the rest of his family all eat from a food bowl that he cant climb into because he cannot see. he can still eat but i dont think he knows how to drink or where to drink because i have a dispenser for guinea pigs. how should i raise him and how do i feed and make him drink?

Answer
hello Anthony,
raise him the same way that you do with the other guinea pigs, but make things more accessible for him. get a food dish that's easier for the guinea pig to get to, try and teach the guinea pig where the water bottle is at. If you are afraid the guinea pig isn't getting the water that he needs you can give him water through a dropper, although guinea pigs do drink a lot of water. I'd try and teach him where everything is at. That's the best thing to do.
