baby guinea pigs fur

Question
We have four baby GPs. They are approx. 6 weeks old. Two are very silky and quite big the other two are much smaller and have quite rough fur. THeir fur was 'wavy' when they were born! One of these has short 'wavy' fur from head to rump and the rest of its coat is longer and fluffy. It's whiskers are also uneven and crooked. Is this a medical condition?Have you seen this kind of GP before? Is it being bullied? This is the first time we've had babies and we haven't a clue!

Answer
Hi,
My guinea pig had babies just like that. You don't have to worry about it's whiskers or wavy coat unless your guinea pig is being bullied. Try seperating them and see what happens. It might just be that there is nothing wrong with it's coat or their coats are very rare. You might have cross breeded them and got a different kind of coat.I hope this was helpful and don't hesitate to ask me any other questions.
