Question
I have a piggy that is 2 years old, he just recently became lethargic and was not eating or drinking. The only thing I could think to do for him was to give him gatorade and water via a dropper, well he is more energetic now but not really eating or drinking on his own. I have since learned from doing the research on the pigs that he may have suffered a heat stroke. We have been experiencing a heat wave and the AC was not working. Will he recover?? Now he has crusty eyes. But, hes also starting to pee and poop again. He hadnt been for about 2 days. He is very sweet and I will hate to lose him. Why dont pigs live longer?

Answer
Hi Crenah

Its good to hear that he is now pooping again which means he must have eaten something. Its probably a good idea to keep him in as cool a place as possible for the time being though. For future reference, you can wrap a piggy in a slightly wet towel when suffering from heat stroke but only long enough for him to recover.

If he continues to improve i am sure he will be fine but if you are worried please consult a vet or let me know.

I also wished pigs lived longer, its terrible when they die but they live long enough to put their pawmark on our lives.
