My guinea pig died!

My guinea pig, Dart, died about a month ago, and I was wondering why. Here area a few things about her

- we had just got a new guinea pig about two months before Dart died

- Dart had been dehydrated about a week before she died because I forgot to fill up her water

- she had a bad case of Diahrrea for about 3 days

- She was about 5-6.5 years old, I'm not sure how old exactly

- We got her from the RSPCA

- I had seen a huntsman spider on her cadge the night she died

- She had lost a lot of weight in the past week

Can you work out how she died from all of these points? I would much like to know if there was something else I could have done

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. i know how you feel. However, there really is no point trying to find out if you could have done more to keep your friend alive. But, as you ask, I will answer your question the best i can.

She might have died from dehydration or diaoreah. both are serious illnesses for guinea pigs.

The spider might have bitten her.

The weightloss was probably due to the diorrehah.

As you can see, there are a lot of "might" as regards how dart died. She might even have died from old age.

Remember the good times you spent together, and in time, i'm sure you will want to get a new piggy to be your new friend.
