Question
I just brought home a baby guinea pig. I know it's a female, and it was
the smallest of the group.(About the size of my hand) She is still shy
and I understand that will take time but my main question is when i
handle her (atleast thirty minutes a day or more) I sit her on my lap, or
lay with her on my tummy. She makes this squeaking noise when i pet
her, and she continues when she falls asleep on me, i don't know if she is
happy or scared, but she does cuddle to my fore arm while she is
squeaking. Another thing is, no matter what kind of treat i give her from the
pet store, she shows no interest. should I just stick to citrus and
kiwi? And she's not very active, she sleeps alot, I try to put her in the
ball i got for her, but most of the time she just sits there? What
should I do about her activeness? I hope you can help. Thank you so much

Answer
Hi Ambrosia

Most guinea pigs noises are happy noises so unless skitch sounds upset (and you will be able to tell) then you can seafely assume she is squeaking out of happiness.

Regarding the ball, excersize balls are not appropriate for piggies which is why she isnt showing any interest.

In terms of treats, some piggies dont like fruit so try her favourite vegetable perhaps.
