guinea pig injury?

Our new guinea pig is suddenly toppling over on its side, but doesn't appear to have an obvious injury. He takes a few steps and then topples over. Almost like it's a neurological problem. Any ideas on what could be wrong?  thanks

This sounds a lot like an ear infection of some sort to me -- not a neurological problem, more a balance problem.  I would take your guinea pig to the vet and have him checked out.  Also, depending on how you define "new", I would check with the pet store or breeder you purchased the animal from to see if they will reimburse you for the vet bills since they sold you an unhealthy animal -- particularly if we're talking within the last week or two.
