help please

I found my guinea pig Arianna, who is two years old, lying on her side in her cage and kicking her legs like crazy. I thimk she was trying to get up, but she couldn't so i lifted her up and placed her on her feet but she fell over again. She wouldn't eat lettuce that i offered her (which is not normal).

I'm so sorry to hear news like this about anyone's pigs. I can't tell you exactly what it is as there are several possibilities. The first could be some kind of injury that has prevented her from being able to stay on her feet.

Second thing that comes to mind is some kind of stroke, although most strokes typically cause paralysis on one side or the other. The fact that she's moving all her legs seems to rule that out.

Another possibility is some kind of seizure activity. That would explain the movement of the legs and inability to close her mouth. Whatever it is she certainly needs a trip to the vet to determine what it might be.

Is there any possibility that she could have eaten something that poisoned her? That's probably the least of the possible choices, but should be considered. But no matter what, this little girl needs a vet quickly.

Please let me know what happens as I am very concerned.
