Question
Ok i just bought a quinea pig at pet smart this last sunday. the only info they gave me was that it was a girl, they didn't say what kind it was. she has brown black and white hair? what kind is it? And i would also like to know would it be better if i do get another one i mean they are $30 a piece and i only want to get another one if it will absolutley help a little bit with the shyness. and if i get a male, how many babies could they have at one time?and what are some other foods i can feed her besides regualr quinea pig food? also how can i tell if she is pregnant and why is she always sqeaking?

Answer
Does her hair lie smooth, or in swirls and stand up everywhere?

You do not want a male, guinea pigs reproduce too much and too fast, if you want another one, check into a rescue or shelter!

She NEEDS fresh fruits and veggies (daily) hay (daily) water (daily) If you need a list of safe and unsafe fruits and veggies...email me @ jrosler04@wmconnect.com

the "squeaking" you hear is what is called wheeking, guinea pig wheek for food, or for attention, this is how they talk, if she is wheeking, that means she is happy!

I would definately reccomend getting a friend for her...SAME SEX!! check out the rescue sites, several of these piggies will be put down due to irresponsible breeding, and lack of homes!!

Good luck
