When do i know when shes ready?

how do i know when the guinea pig is ready to give birth and what should i do ?

Answer
A female guinea pig is pregnant for 68-72 days, and in the later stages of her pregnancy you will be able to see the shape of the babies and feel them moving around. Don't handle her during this time unless it is unnecessary as it will cause her discomfort.

If she's under sixth months of age or it's her second litter then you don't need to do much, other than put some extra hay in her cage so she has somewhere comfy to lay down. She'll probably have the babies overnight or any other time you're not around, but if you do hear her go into labour - listen to make sure she isn't struggling.
