Handling the guinea pigs when youve just had them.

Question
How long is it before you can actually handle/hold the guinea pigs when you first get them because somebody told me that you're not supposed to handle them for a week until they've settled in? Is this true?

I'm sorry about not answering you right away. To be quite honest, i sort of didn't even see this email.  :(

You can hold the babies right away! I wouldn't hold them constantly, because they are trying to get used to the new home and environment, but you absolutely can enjoy holding and petting your new friend!
