Question
Hi, i would like to know about the amout of food they are supposed to eat!!
How much fruit and veggies and pellets every day?
How much more food does a pregnant pig need?

Thanks
Daniela

Answer
It really depends on the guinea pig, and its age, size etc. I keep pellets in my pig's bowls all of the time and let them eat however much they'd like. I use 8 and 16 oz. food dishes, and for some of my pig groups I use feeders or 32 oz bowls. A single pig will usually eat between half to one 8 oz. bowl a day. I give my pig fruits and/or veggies once a day, I have also fed them as much as 2 times a day. When I feed mine once a day I will usually give 1/2 big leaf of romaine lettuce each, a piece of apple each, and a carrot. Or similar size for other foods. I give my pigs a handful of timothy hay every other day. They also get treats like oatmeal, uncooked, every once in a while. With pregnant pigs just give them however much they'll eat, always keep the pellets filled, but the same amount of fruits and veggies.
