Question
We just purchased two males a couple of days ago.  One is adjusting great and seems to be pretty happy.  The other seems to have a bit of an attitude and when held to our chest, he tries to climb away.  What is the best way to get him used to use without making things worse.  He has given us some teeth chattering and some rumbling warnings.  We just don't want to push it, but if he can't be broke of it, we will have to return him in our 14 day guarantee period.  He's pretty cute and we would hate to have to do this.

Answer
Hi Dana,
When guinea pigs chatter and rumble that means their scared. He isn't probably used to being held by humans. Don't push him  because that could make things worse. Gradually spend more and more time with him a day. You can pet him with him in his cage or give him fruits or veggies from you hand and let him eat out of your hand. Whisper in his ear.
Good luck & I hope this helps,
Christine
