QuestionHi..my daughter's guinea pig has in the past had spots where he's lost hair and redness occured..we thought that he was rubbing against the cage. I was out of town for a couple weeks and upon returning, found that the situation has escalated. He now has lost hair upon his back, and an area in roundness above his buttocks about 2 inches across. His eating and drinking habits haven't changed..gets purified water with vitamins, dried carrots and occasional treats..any ideas? Your help is greatly appreciated! Oh..he's approximately 2 1/2 years old, an albino with red eyes, white hair.
Thanks...

AnswerHello..your daughter's guinea pig has mites! YOU need to go to a local feed store and pick up ivermectin paste! (I use the brand called IVERCARE ) it shouldn't cost but maybe $10..and it is a horse dewormer... Once you buy this..email me for dosing instructions!
