Sick Skinny Pig Named Dillo

My little sister called me and told me her skinny pig is very sick, he is not eating food, just drinking water and has went from a chubby little fellow to her fingers being able to wrap around his belly.  I am scared for Dillo, he is a sweet heart and actually eats alot, we are going to try to take him to the vet, but if you can think of some home remedies for him losing this weight or what it might be please let me know.  I dont want to lose him, he has a friend her name is Guapa, she is huge and a hairy female Guinea, she is not sick, do you think we should separate them until we find out whats wrong, he still has energy it is just like if he is fighting to eat.  Please help I dont want to lose Dillo. Hi Danielle.  I apologize for taking so long to respond, had a family emergency.  If he is still eating a lot and losing weight then he really needs some medical attention.  I would firs think some kind of parasite, but they usually cause the stomach swell.  He could also not be eating because he doesn't feel well.  If he has some other underlying problem that you don't know about it will ruin is appetite.  Try mixing some karo syrup with water and giving him that with a dropper.  It is very sweet and full of calories/sugar for him.  I hope this helps
