guinea pig sores

i have a guinea pig five weeks ago she had babies and after 5 days she started to have dry scaly skin on her ear after that she began having open sores around the her ear and leg .now im medicating her with TCP and alcohol pads they are very affective the skin drys out quickly,but when the sore begins to dry she opens it again ,i wash her every 3 months what can i do thank you very much

I am unsure of what would cause this, it could be ear mites. Check out her ears and see if you can see anything that is round to oval in shape on them. That will be the ear mite and she'll need to be taken to the vet for treatment.

If you don't see anything, you may want to take her to the vet anyway and have the vet look at it. Just so her ears don't get an infection with her always breaking them open.

Other then that I don't know what to tell you, I've looked through all my sources and come up with nothing other then it could be ear mites. I've never had an experience with any of my girls like this, so I don't know what to tell you other then have her checked out by a vet.
