Sneezing???

Two Days ago, I brought home two male guinea pigs for the first time. Since then, they have been sneezing quite often. Is this a harmful health condition? If so, is there a medicine or medication I could use to prevent it from harming them? Thanks

Guinea pigs often make what sounds to us like a sneeze but is really just a harmless way of clearing their noses. It's not an indication of infection so don't be tempted to try to fix something that isn't broken.

The best indicator of a guinea pig's health is whether he's eating and drinking. That being said I want you to also be aware that they may not jump right into a normal routine when you first bring them home.

The best thing to do is to leave them completely alone for several days to give them time to get used to their new surroundings. The sights, sounds and smells are foreign to them and they need time to adjust. So don't rush into too much handling just yet. Let them have time to get comfortable in their new home.
