Question
Friday night one of my pigs died. He wouln't eat or drink. he would sneeze alot and his nose and eyes were a little crusty. he was fine thursday and gone on friday. was it pnumonia? should i be worried that my other pig will get sick? the other one seems fine.but now i am parinoid>>>>>>the real quesion realy is since his brother has been gone he seems depressed. he has never been alone before and i feel so sorry for him. we really don't want to get another one rigt now, because it was so painfull when he died. im not ready to replace him. however, i don't want our other one to suffer from depression. they always slept side by  side and curled up together.now he has no one!! what can i do? any suggestions would help.

Answer
i AM NOT SURE WHAT THE SICKNESS WAS, WE MAY NEVER KNOW.Guinea pigs dont really suffer from depression medically but i KNOW THAT THEY KNOW THAT THERE FRIND IS GONE. REPLACING THE OTHER GP IS SOMTIMES A BAD IDEA BECAUSE THE GP WONT TAK IN THE NEW GP AND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK YOU ARE STUCK WITHA ANOTHER GUINA PIG AND HAVING TO BUY A NEW CAGE. SO, YOU CN TRY, ITS A 50 50 SHOT. GOOD LUCK AND LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES.
