Guinea pig dandruff

Question
I e-mailed you a couple days ago about my two female guinea pigs that are shedding very badly and have dandruff. You thought that maybe bathing them in some selsun soap would help. I trust you and what you told me to use, but I do have a couple questions. Could it harm them if they drink the water with the shampoo in it, or if it gets in their eyes? And how often should I use it, and for how long? Also, one of them is only a three month old guinea pig, is it okay to use it on her?
Any extra advice, of any fruits or veggies that may help more to reduce shedding, or anything to watch for, if the shampoo doesn't work etc. would really be appreciated!
Thank you soo much for all your help!

Answer
Hi Adria
Selsun ( shampoo )is perfectly safe for the piggies and I dont think they will try to drink the water but try your best not to get it into their eyes.
Use twice weekly for 1 month and see if there is much improvement.
If it doesnt work get back to me and we will try something else.
As for the shedding, try rubbing some vit E oil onto the area xxx
