Guinea Pig and exercise ball

My daughter recently received a male piggy. We have two small dogs (a mini dachshund and a pug) so I went to the store and bought an oversized exercise ball the the piggy could run about and the dogs could get used to him.  Believe me when I tell you this is not your ordinary sized exercise ball.  The is no risk of the piggy going into a C type position with this ball.  My problem is how to I teach how to use the ball?  He just kinda sits in it.  Very much so defeating the purpose of the ball.  Thanks so very much...Tracy

Hello Tracy,
some guinea pigs don't like the ball. Sometimes you can try to put a little food in front of the ball and see if he will come to the food.Food is the best way to encourage animals :).  There's no guarantee that he will ever like th ball though even with food.
