Question
Hello; i have a month old gp who has three colours. on his white fur i have noticed very fine violet-coloured spots which are very close to the roots. i am rather worried that he might have something serious. do you know what it might be?
(ps this is my first gp)

Answer
Abigail,

It could possibly be his skin color, sometimes with tri-colored Guinea Pigs they have dark skin spots under their light hair. By all accounts that is what it sounds like, as long as he is acting normal, is eating, drinking normally and you notice nothing else out of the ordinary then he is fine and nothing for you to worry about.

It just sounds like a spot of dark skin under his light fur which is common among tricolored Guinea Pigs, especially if they have dark fur like black or dark brown. If you haven't noticed yet, he has dark skin under his darker hair and light skin under his light hair.

Nothing to worry about as long as he is acting normal. If you see any signs of him not acting normal take him down to see an exotic vet.

Take care now and if you have another questions feel free to ask, I am more then happy to answer them and will help in anyway I can in helping you with those questions.
