female ear nipping

Question
I got 2 gp's, both female. I'm starting to introduce them. One is a ton bigger than the other, so when the are nose to nose that one is taller. When they are together, sometimes the bigger one licks the other's nose and fur between the eyes. Then she bit her ear. This is on neutral ground. Help!

Answer
Hello Jorge,

She sounds like she is just getting to know the smaller piggy and is asserting her dominance a bit. Did she aggressively attack her or just nip her ear a bit too hard? If she aggressively attacked the smaller piggy, they aren't going to work together and should likely spend their lives as neighbors and not cagemates. If it was just a little nip in passing, they are likely just fine just keep an eye out for further trouble. If the ear is cut, just keep it clean as it heals and it should be fine. If it is a particularly nasty wound, washing it in warm salt water a couple times a day is a good idea. Good luck.
