Fighting males?

Question
I had one piggy (male)and he seemed lonely and bored so i was able to adopt 2 more males that were brothers and were going to be going to a shelter. i got them on thursday so they have only been together for a few days, i entroduced them in netural ground, i had built a new cage as well so they were all in new territory and there would be no issuses with that... they seem to get along, there is no real noise coming from the cage, they sit in the tunnels together, even though there is more hidding spots then there are piggys... but the one that i had previous now has little scratches on his mouth and nose area... nothing any were else... are they fighting? the other two seem to be ok i keep checking them everywhere... i would hate to have to make a choice between them or have to sperate them and have one be lonely... like i said they seem to get along, but i dont know were the scraches are comeing from... if i need to seperate them i would like to know...thank you

Answer
Hi Beth,

It doesn't sound like there are any real problems there, so I wouldn't worry. Unless one of them gets hurt to the point that they are bleeding, then I would consider separating, but I can't see any reason for them to be split up at the moment.

Just make sure they have a big enough cage (www.guineapigcages.com), a hidey, food dish, hay rack and water bottle each, and a good amount of floor time so they get ample space to really run around and exercise, and things *should* stay settled.

Best Wishes,
