Hi,
I Just bought a Pregnant Cavy about 4days ago and I waz wondering when the babies are first born can i hold them with in a few minutes after they are born or how long should i wait and another question is how long should I wait until i take them outside????

Also I need a name for the Mommy do you have any ideas???

i WAS THINKING ABOUT BABI??????

Hi Cassie,

I tend to find that you'll know exactly what name will suit your guinea pig. Try saying a new name and see what sounds good - if you think she's a Babi, you're probably right! My female guinea pigs were called Honey, Truffle and Daisy.

Try not to touch the babies for 48 hours. I know it will be very tempting, but if you stroke them too soon they may take on your scent and their mother will then reject them. Never let them out of the mother's sight until they have weaned (stopped drinking her milk) at between 2 and 3 weeks of age.

What do you mean by take them outside?
