potty training

Question
When you potty train a guinea pig can you have a litter box in the corner of the cage with shavings and hay in it then for the rest of the cage just have mesh wire like in a rabits cage or will that hurt the guinea pigs feet i have had tons of guinea pigs before but now i am getting a new one and i wanted to see if i could potty train it like that. Thanks

Hello,
You can potty train your guinea but don't put wire at the bottom of its cage as that may hurt its feet. Just put normal bedding and in the tray put guinea litter and every time your guinea poos in the wrong place pick its poos up and put them in the tray.
