want to feed pregnet guinea pigs

Hi.I found this guinea pig wesite and it said that do not give your pregnet guinea pig pellets or grain because the babys will grow to big and she mite have troubles giving birth.But im careing for a pregnet guinea pig at the moment this is her 2 pregnancy her 1 pregneancy was when she tured 6mths old now shes 1yrs old she is a very heathly guinea pig I got her at the petshop so heathly.but what I read on that website Im confusied because I have fed my pregnet guinea pigs good guinea pig food that has grian and lots of pellets and they gave birth fine well her daughter did.But the 1 im careing for now she gave birth to 2twin albion girls they were very big at birth and one did not survive very sadly.And well I wonder if it is becaues of the grain and pellets in the food.Can you please tell me if it is ok to feed her that guinea pig food that has grain and pellets?.from kathleen

Sorry for my slow response, my guinea pig just had babies and its been hectic! :)
You need to feed them grain, you cant just cut them off completely they need the nutrients. Pregnant sows should be fed however much they want. They really need the minerals and nutrients to make the babies grow strong and healthy!
So keep feeding her pellets and keep up the good work! Also keep feeding her fresh vegetables and alfalfa hay!
