QUESTION: i have got 2 Guinea Pigs, 1 of them is very thin we have been to a vet 2 days ago. the vet gave him a injection to try and get him to eat and we have to give him antibiotics 1 time a day. but if he dose not get better we will have to have him put down

ANSWER: Hi Daniel

I am sorry to hear your piggy is sick.

Guinea pigs stop eating due to many different illnesses. Did the vet also check his teeth. What injection and antibiotics did he give?

QUESTION: the vet check his teath.the injection was to stimulate appetite and the antibiotics are 1xa day 0.2mls of Baytrll ora/ml2.5%

Answer
Hi Daniel

Thanks for the extra information.

Baytrill itself can affect the appetite so you might like to ask the vet for an alternative.

Your piggy obviously needs food straight away so perhaps the vet could show you how to syringe feed.

Good luck
