Question
Hello it's nat
just wondering my drip is always getting gunk in it and i keep having to try and scrub the inside of it but it doesn't exactly get all of it out ive tried using old rags and things like that and it gets it off somtimes, i usually get it done about twice a week. but i was just wondering do you know how i could stop it from coming?
Also what is better to use hay and newspaper for the floor or wood shavings and newspaper? And also somthing that is always annoying me is my girl guinea pig is a bit wierd when you hold her certain ways, e.g if you cuddle her so that only her head is stick out, she will make wierd squeeks and push you away from her. I thought she was claustrophobic at first! but is it just because she is female! because she also goes crazy when you put your hand behind her and your other hand infront of her to pick her up, she is fine until you touch her bottem to lift her! she is almost a year old now. She has three cage mates (loudmouth, Bec her babies, about 4 months old and chloe who she has known since she was a baby) Chloe and jemma used to fight a lot but then got used to eachother, i don't think they like eachother but they do get along now.
thanks Nat

Answer
Hello Natalie,

Piggies backwash. There isn't alot you can do. You can get a baby bottle brush to clean the bottle and a cotton swab works wonders for cleaning the nozzles. If you do this daily it may help some. As for bedding, it's entirely your preferance (as long as the wood shavings aren't pine or cedar, those shouldn't be used at all). I personally prefer hay and newspaper because it ensures they have loads of hay and rarely do they cause allergies. However, the wood shavings generally need cleaning less often and are usually better with odor absorbtion. So it really is up to your preferances and lifestyle which works best for you and your piggy. Her quirk has nothing to do with her gender. It sounds like it's just a part of her personality. Each piggies have different ways they like to be handled. The best thing would be to simply find a new way to handle her. Good luck.
