Guinea Pig teeth grinding and sores on tummy

Question
A few days ago we noticed that our female guinea is matted on the underside close to her private parts.. Once she was cleaned and bathed we started treating with topical medication.. it seems to be getting better.  However, she is not eating or drinking. Just sitting in her house very still.  We started giving her liquids with a dropper and have added additional vitamin c.  When she takes liquid from the dropper we can hear her back molars grinding.  Could this be why she is not eating?  We have checked her front teeth and they are fine.  Is there anything we can do to get her to eat.  She lives with another female pig.

Answer
What was the topical medication used? If it contained penicillin, amoxicillin or any other antibiotic containing -cillin on the end, then she could have injested it causing poisonous effects. If this is the case all you can do is let her try to get better, or she may not get better. It is very important for her to get lots of fluid, either by drinking naturally, or you may have to force her. Also make sure she eats, you may have to force feed her by blending some pellet with water to make a creamy solution, or use baby food. The teeth grinding is usually a sign of illness, it can also be from her having seizures. Guinea pigs can not vomit, so if she did swallow penicillin then she will have to let it pass through her system. This is most likely what happened, but let me know what antibiotics were in the medication if penicillin was not, other than this it could be an infection, but it sounds to be a penicillin overdose. Let me know if you have any more questions.
