Question
hi my names rachel and i have a 7 week old guinea pig. Sometimes she squeeks and makes long squeeking noises and they can get really loud. And then there is the quiet squeeking noise. What do these noises meen? And how can i groom my guinea pig so she enjoys it and what kind of brush/comb should i use?. I have tried combing her but she usually just squeeks so i have just presumed she doesnt like it. Please help!

Answer
Hi Rachel

Most piggy noises mean they are happy. The loud, high pitched noise is called 'wheeking'. In my experience this means 2 things. 1, they are very happy or 2, they want food or attention.

Quiet squeeks are also happy noises as are the purring sounds they often make.

If you piggy is short haired, you probably don't need to brush her. However, you can buy a specialist small animal brush from all good pet stores.
