fat piggy

Hi Christine,
I keep a pair of guinea pigs and one of them, Mackie is putting on weight while the other, Pixy is losing weight. I try to let them run about in my balcony every day but Mackie(the fat one) just goes to her little corner and sleeps. I have also tried giving them separate food bowls stationed in front of each of their houses but Mackie just eats from both. Any suggestions on how to slim down my guinea pig?

Hi Susan,
This is normal just put the food in the bowl and the guinea pig would eat only as much as he is hungry. If this really concerns you maybe you should separate them for a while until he slims down and the other gains weight. Make sure not to feed him to much.
