Question
QUESTION: My female pig Guinea Cooper is about 6 months old, I have another Boo that is the same age as well.  Guinea has a tendency to bite when I try to take her out.  I try going in very slowly, and petting her first.  She bites, and draws blood sometimes.  The other pig boo never bites at all, so I am not sure where she is getting this from.  It is driving me crazy, I really want to know how to handel this situation.  All of the other answers I have read on this dont seem to work.  PLEASE HELP!! I love these pigs, but the one's biting is driving me insane.

ANSWER: Hi Brandon

I am sorry to hear about your trouble.

Can you tell me, when she bites you, is she standing anywhere near her food dish?

QUESTION: No she is not.  She likes to be out of the cge, but when I go to take he out she
runs away and bites.

ANSWER: Hi again

Thanks for that. I had a suspicion that she might bite out of what is called food aggression where she thinks you are trying to steal her food.

Piggies dont bite out of nastiness so its a case of trial and error. Next thing to check is if there is a anything bothering her on her skin. Is there any sign of red scurfing or abrasions that mites may cause? Also, does she only bite you when she is in the cage or also when she is playing?

QUESTION: I dont see anything on her skin that would lead me to believe she has mites.
She bites when she is in the cage, and when she is playing.  What do i do?

Answer
Hi again Brandon

I am at a bit of a loss what might be the problem as I have already suggested all the standard things.

The last thought I have is to get her teeth checked.

Sorry I cant help further. It might be something Cooper grows out of.
